Susan was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2006 and the High Court of Australia in 2018.
She holds the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Laws (Hons) (UQ)
- Graduate Diploma of Legal Education (College of Law, Brisbane)
- Double Diploma of Business and Fitness (Max College, Brisbane)
Susan has worked in two top tier national law firms and Australia’s largest industrial organisation as an advocate before moving into education as a boarding house mother teaching Religious Education and later being appointed the Children’s Pastor at New Hope Brisbane. She recently rejoined the legal profession working in the Corney & Lind Litigation team dealing with Workplace Relations, School and Family Law matters.
Susan has personally appeared in numerous Courts and Tribunals including the Queensland and Federal Industrial Relations Commissions (now Fair Work Commission), Federal Magistrates (now the Federal Circuit Court of Australia) and Federal Court of Australia. On an industry level she has undertaken plant visits, provided training and development of workplace relations practice and been involved in the negation of Collective Bargaining Agreements. Her civil litigation experience extends all the way to trial preparation, instructing Counsel and taking part in mediation conferences.
Susan has a heart for community issues and has been actively in Church missions to Cambodia and Nepal. More locally, she was a longstanding volunteer with Working Wonders at the Women’s Royal Brisbane Hospital and often takes part in fun-runs to raise awareness and funds for worthy issues.
