Born and raised in South Africa, Ashleigh and her family moved to Far North Queensland in 2012 where she her completed secondary education and commenced legal studies. Ashleigh then completed a Bachelor of Laws at Bond University and her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at College of Law. In 2020, she was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
Ashleigh has spent 3 years working in boutique criminal defence firms on the Gold Coast as a law clerk and solicitor. In this role, served clients in criminal, traffic and domestic violence law. She has worked on a range of matters from summary offences in the lower courts to serious criminal offences in the upper courts. Ashleigh has developed a skill for advocacy by regularly appearing on her feet in a number of courts including the Magistrates, District and Supreme Court.
Ashleigh approaches her work with zeal and diligence to achieve exceptional results for her clients. She provides a high level of service with compassion and understanding. Ashleigh joins the C&L team and works in our litigation team, practicing criminal law, traffic, employment, dispute resolution and litigation.
Ashleigh is multilingual, speaking fluent Afrikaans, conversational Dutch and is learning German and Spanish.
She is a firm believer in justice and the right to legal representation for all people. Outside of the office you will find Ashleigh scouting down the best coffee in Brisbane and playing board games with friends and family.
